3 Dermatologist Tips For Dealing With Acne

About Me
A New You

A couple of years ago, I noticed a bump growing on my face. At first, I didn’t worry about this development. I assumed the bump would eventually go away on its own. Unfortunately, the lump on my face continued to grow. Because it was close to my right eye, I decided to make an appointment with a local dermatologist. This kind, experienced physician informed me that the bump on my face was actually a harmless cyst. With a small tool, she expertly removed the cyst from my face. The procedure was relatively painless. On this blog, I hope you will discover some pain free solutions dermatologists use to improve people’s facial appearances. Enjoy!

3 Dermatologist Tips For Dealing With Acne

Acne is generally going to be something that no one necessarily wants to deal with, but it is something that a lot of people have to deal with at some point in time. However, just because you have acne doesn't mean that there is nothing that you can do to treat it. One great way to help deal with your acne is to talk with your dermatologist. They are going to have a very in-depth knowledge of acne, and will know exactly how to help you treat it. This article is going to discuss 3 dermatologist tips for dealing with acne.

Use Benzoyl Peroxide

One great over-the-counter resource, that your dermatologist may recommend that you use to clear up your acne, is going to be benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl peroxide is often going to come in a cream form and is used for spot treatment. If you notice that you have a zit, or you think you may have a zit coming on, then you are going to be able to place this cream on the zit to effectively get rid of it, or at the very list stop it from getting worse. The benzoyl peroxide is going to kill the bacteria that created the zit, and will effectively dry it out at the same time. This combination will allow you to get rid of the zit at a much faster rater than you would otherwise be able to, and can also help stop new zits from forming.

Do Not Pop It

Another important tip that your dermatologist will give you is to leave your zits alone and do not pop them. This may seem like a basic tip, but since human nature seems to be to pop the zit, it is important to be noted. Popping a zit can not only cause the zit to spread to other areas of your face, but it can also cause you to have an unsightly acne scar on your face when you otherwise would've had nothing.

Go In For Treatment

If your dermatologist feels that your acne is bad enough that over the counter products are not going to work on it, then they are likely going to recommend that you come in for professional treatment. They are going to be able to use different forms of treatment in office, such as light therapy, facials, etc. They are also going to be able to prescribe you some stronger acne fighting medication that can't be found over the counter.
